I am originally from a small town in North AL, called Hazel Green, where my immediate family has lived all of my life; David & Allicyn, and Davida. At a very early age in the 7th grade, weighing 215lbs, I realized the importance of self-education, which directly correlates to self care. I became infatuated with human anatomy and its various systems. Through my research I learned that we are meant to be strong, stable locomotive forces, not remain in stagnation. Physical activity and weight-bearing exercises are two of the three pillars to health and wealth, the third being diet. However, by the 8th grade, I dropped to roughly 165lbs, simply by making the decision to self-educate. The desire from that accomplishment developed into an obsession for healthy longevity.
I continued my studies at Auburn University to obtain a Biomedical Sciences degree concentrating in Pre-Physical Therapy, with a minor in Spanish. Prior to graduation, I had the fortunate opportunity to volunteer at a joint Physical Therapy/Chiropractic clinic. While volunteering, I learned a multitude of knowledge from the chiropractor about conservative treatment, and witnessed miraculous results from his patients. I was so enlightened by the way chiropractic treatment optimizes the body, as well as prevent harm, that I went on to obtain my chiropractic degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Florida.
My time in Florida was transformational. I worked as a cadaver lab assistant, learning about the body, inside and out. The founder of chiropractic B.J. Palmer coined the term innate intelligence, that we are all born with the ability to heal. Subluxation or misalignment resulting from the environment, everyday activity, or injury takes that away. Chiropractors have the power to restore that ability for the human body to self-heal thus prevent illness and disease. I am here in CO to be one of the leaders of this wellness revolution with DHW. I believe it is utterly important to have a well-aligned spine. Adjustments equal alignment, and alignment equals balance. Balance, then leads to healthy longevity, and optimum functionality.
I vow to my patients that I will continue to self-educate and deliver meaningful, compassionate, and exquisite treatment.
